Ways to Support Colorado Humane Voters League
Donate money   Donate Auction Items   Volunteer

Donate Money
Colorado Humane Voters League (CHVL) has no membership dues and is funded strictly by private contributions. CHVL is an all-volunteer organization, so you can be sure that 100% of your donation will be put to work directly for the animals. Because of our political work, contributions to CHVL are not tax deductible.

Thank you!
Donate Auction Items
CHVL can use your unwanted treasures - as auction items that can be sold on Ebay. We will accept any items that are in salable condition and are relatively easy to ship. To arrange drop-off/pick-up, please call us at 720.855.3040 or send us an e-note at chvl@coloradohumanevoters.org.
Volunteer
As mentioned above, CHVL is an all-volunteer organization. This means that we always need more volunteers! CHVL is currently looking for the following.
  • In the Denver metro area, help with putting together mailings (envelope stuffing, labeling, etc.).
We send about four mailings a year and we can give you several weeks' notice before a mailing "party" will take place. We are looking for dependable, steady help with this project.
  • In the spring and summer months, help with staffing booths at festivals around the state.
These festivals are a major source of new members for CHVL, and we need volunteers to be at the table telling peoples what CHVL does and answering any questions they may have. The commitment can be as little as a couple of hours on a weekend or as much as coordinating the booth for an entire weekend.
  • Be our fundraising coordinator.
This would be a serious time commitment. We are looking for an individual who can really get our fundraising program off the ground.
  • Help with general fundraising.
This would be a smaller time commitment than the fundraising coordinator position. We need help with the planning and implementation of fundraising events. The time commitment could be for one specific event, or for several events.
  • Help with the campaigns of animal-friendly candidates.
We would like to have people lined up that we can contact during election seasons to work on key candidate races. Examples of how you can help a candidate include distributing campaign literature door-to-door, working at phone banks, participating in honk-and-waves, delivering and/or displaying yard signs, hosting informal "meet the candidate" get-togethers, stuffing envelopes, and marching in parades for the candidate.
  • Help with local issues.
We are looking for people to act as CHVL's main contact in their respective city, county, state house district, or state senate district. You would keep on top of what is going on in the area and be a local point of contact for hte baord of directors. You might also help CHVL initiate projects with the city council, county commission, or state legislators.
  • Help with clipping news articles about animal-related legislation and/or about CHVL.
This would entail sending us the news articles that you have found.
For more information about any of these volunteer opportunities, or to volunteer, please call us at 720.855.3040 or send us an e-note at chvl@coloradohumanevoters.org.
